Chapter 4
1 Now, again He began teaching on the edge of the yama {the sea}, and large crowds were gathered to Him, so that He went up to sit in a boat on the yama {the sea}. And the whole kensha {crowd/gathering} was standing on the land by the side of the yama {the sea}.

2 And He was teaching them in many Mathle {Parables}, and was saying in His teaching.

3 “Listen! Behold, a Zarua {a Sower/Planter} went out to mezra {sow}.

4 And while he sowed, there was some which fell beside the urkha {the road}, and a pharakhtha {a bird} came and ate it.

5 Then, other fell on shua {rocky ground} where there wasn’t much ara {earth, or soil}, and sprouted at once {lit. in the son of an hour, i.e. in minutes} on account that there wasn’t depth of ara {earth, or soil}.

6 But, after the shemsha {the sun} arose, it withered. And on account that it had no eqara {root}, it dried up.

7 And other fell among kube {thorns}, and the kube {the thorns} came up and choked it, and it gave no fruits.

8 But, other fell on ara tabtha {good ground/soil} and came up and increased, and gave phire {fruits}; some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred.”

9 And He said, “Whoever that has edne {ears} that might neshma {hear}, let him neshma {hear}.”

10 Now, when they were alone, those who were with Him, along with His Twelve, they asked Him about that Mathla {Parable}.

11 And Eshu {Yeshua} said unto them, “It is given you to know The Raza d’Malkutheh d’Alaha {The Mystery of The Kingdom of God}, but, to those outside, every thing is in Mathle {Parables}.

12 So that while seeing, they will see, and won’t see, and while hearing, they shall hear, and not understand, so that perhaps they may repent {lit. return}, and their sins may be forgiven them.”

13 And He said unto them, “You don’t understand this Mathla {Parable}? And how will you understand all the Mathle {the Parables}?

14 The Zarua {the sower/planter} who sowed, sowed The Miltha {The Word}.

15 Now, those which were on the side of the road, are those in whom The Miltha {The Word} is sown, and that which they have heard, satana {i.e. the adversary} immediately comes and takes The Miltha {The Word} which was sown in their hearts.

16 And those which were sown on shua ara {rocky ground/soil}, are those which are likened to those who have heard The Miltha {The Word}, they immediately receiving it with joy.

17 But, they have no root in their souls {i.e. in themselves}. They are temporary, and when ultsana {difficulty} happens, or dupya {persecutions}, because of The Miltha {The Word}, they quickly stumble.

18 And those which were sown among kube {thorns}, are those who hear The Miltha {The Word},

19 and the renya {the cares/concerns} of this alma {world/age}, and the thuyay d’uthra {the deception of wealth}, and the rest of the other lusts enter, choking The Miltha {The Word}, and it becomes unfruitful {lit. without fruit}.

20 And those that were sown upon good soil, are those who have heard The Word, and have received it, and bear phire {fruits}, in thirty, and in sixty, and in a hundredfold.”

21 And He said unto them, “Is a shraga {a lamp} brought, that is placed under a satha {a measuring basket}, or under an arsa {a bed}? Should it not be placed on a manartha {a lamp-stand}?

22 For, there is nothing which is hidden, that won’t be uncovered, and not happened in secret, that won’t be revealed.

23 If a nash {a man} has ears that might neshma {hear}, let him neshma {hear}.”

24 And He said unto them, “Watch what you hear. With that measure that you measure, it will be measured unto you, and it is increased unto you; those who hear.

25 For, whosoever that has, it shall be given to him; and whosoever has not, that also which he has shall be taken from him.

26 And He was saying, “Such is The Malkutha d’Alaha {The Kingdom of God}, like a nash {a man} who casts a zara {a seed} in the ara {ground/soil},

27 and he will sleep, and will rise in the lilya {the night}, and in the iymama {the daytime}, and the zara {the seed} will increase and lengthen while he isn’t aware.

28 For, the ara {the ground/soil} brings forth the phira {the fruit}. And first comes the esba {the blade}, and after it, the shebla {the ear}, then, finally, the full khettha {grain} in the shebla {the ear}.

29 Then, when the phira {the fruit} that is shmen {fat, i.e. ripe}, immediately comes the magla {the sickle}, because the khatsada {the harvest} has arrived.”

30 And He said, “Unto what shall we liken The Malkutha d’Alaha {The Kingdom of God}? And in which Mathla {Parable} shall we compare it?

31 It is like a phredtha d’khradla {a grain of mustard} that is sown in the ara {ground/soil}, it is least than all the zarune {the grains} which are upon the ground.

32 And after it is sown, it sprouts {lit. goes up}, and becomes greater than all the yarqune {the herbs}, and makes great suke {branches}, so that the pharakhtha {the fowl} is able to dwell in its shade.”

33 In Mathle {Parables} like these, Eshu {Yeshua} was speaking with them; Mathle {Parables} as they were able to hear {or, understand}.

34 And without Mathle {Parables} He wasn’t speaking with them, yet, unto His Disciples, between Him and them, He was explaining every thing.

35 And He said unto them on that yawma {day}, at ramsha {evening}, “Nebar lan lebra {Let us cross over unto the other side}.”

36 And they left the crowds and led Him away while He was in a sphintha {a boat}. And there were other sphine {boats} with them.

Note: The Khabouris has an error here, where the 1st word in the sentence should be in the plural “they left” rather than the singular “he left.” The other Peshitta manuscripts have “they left.”

37 And there was a rabtha alala {a great storm}, and rukha {wind}, and gal’le {waves} were falling into the sphintha {the boat}, and it was about to be filled!

38 But He, Eshu {Yeshua}, was d’mek {asleep} on a sadya {a cushion} in the stern {i.e. the back} of the sphintha {the boat}. And they came and raised {i.e. woke} Him, and were saying unto Him, “Raban {Our Master}, don’t you care that we are perishing!”

39 And He arose and rebuked the rukha {the wind}, and said unto the yama {the sea}, “Shali zagir anth {Stop! Be you restrained.}” And the rukha {the wind} stopped, and there was a great nawkha {calm}.

40 And He said unto them, “For what are you thus so fearful? And why isn’t Haymanutha {Faith} in you?”

41 And they feared with a great fear, and were saying one unto another, “Who is this that the rukhe {the winds} and the yama {the sea} obeys Him?”

보라, 한 Zarua {a Sower/Planter}가 mezra {sow}에게 갔다.

14 씨를 뿌린 Zarua {씨 뿌리는 사람/심는 사람}은 The Miltha {The Word}를 뿌렸습니다.

15 이제 길 가에 있던 자들은 The Miltha {The Word}가 뿌려진 자요, 그들이 들은 바는 satana {i.e.

그것들은 일시적이고, The Miltha {The Word} 때문에 ultsana {difficulty}, 또는 dupya {persecutions}이 일어날 때, 그들은 빨리 넘어집니다.

19 그리고 이 alma {world/age}의 renya {the cares/concerns}, thuyay d'uthra {부의 기만}, 그리고 다른 욕망의 나머지가 들어가 The Miltha {The Word}를 질식시키고, 열매를 맺지 못한다 {lit.

38 그러나 그, 에슈 {예슈아}는 스핑타 {배}의 선미 {즉, 뒤쪽}에 있는 사디아 {방석}에서 {잠}이었다. 그리고 그들은 와서 {즉, 깨어난} 그를 일으켜 세우고 그에게 말했다. "라반 {우리의 주인님, 우리가 죽는 것을 신경쓰지 마세요!"}
