We are nearing the completion of the proof-reading phase of all the translated and transliterated words... for accuracy in translation, spelling, pronunciation, grammar, and punctuation in all verses, chapters, and books. If you might find anything that may have been missed, please let us know here, and we will fix it. It is hoped that sometime in the 1st quarter of 2018 a physical printed edition can be made for those who want a copy. Thanks again to all those who have helped with this project.

We have completed the main work of the Translation of the 22 book canon of The Holy Aramaic Scriptures (Eastern Peshitta New Testament), and are now going through each word, verse, chapter, and book to make sure nothing was missed or mistakes had been made. Thanks to all who have helped us along the way from all over the world, you have made the work less heavy to bear! We also are continuing to add more and more Transliterations as we go through the text, as that part of the work was secondary to the actual Translation of The Text into the English language, so, some books and chapters have less Transliterations, while others have more. In the next few months these will be evened out so it is more uniform throughout the whole New Testament.

We have been adding some audio readings to the website for the Aramaic Text of The Four Gospels. These readings are given in the Eastern Aramaic pronunciation, of the dialect of the Eastern Peshitta New Testament, by a native Aramaic speaker. This will help the reader get to know how to pronounce the Aramaic words of The Text, and not read the transliterated words phonetically as they are spelled, but how those letters are to sound in the proper pronunciation. These audio recordings can be heard when you see that the word "Chapter" at the start of each chapter is a light brown color, rather than the usual black color. You simply click on the word "Chapter" and it will open a new audio window and the chapter will be read by the speaker. We are hoping to find someone who would be willing and able to record the rest of the New Testament books of the Eastern Canon, so we could have them presented here as well. Please let us know if you would like to do this great work that will bless many lives. An average of about 100 or so unique visitors come to the website each day from all around the world. And we are blessed to know so many are able to read and hear God's Word's in the language our Lord and His Disciples conversed in!

We are planing to provide printed editions of The Aramaic Scriptures in the near future, which hopefully will be available here at the website by next spring at the latest. We have some ideas and are working on making some options for the print editions. A full edition of the original work, with the Aramaic Text above and the English Translation and the Transliteration in brackets below the Aramaic Text. And another version with The Aramaic Text and just the English Translation below the Aramaic Text. Also, an edition of just the English Translation for those who want it. We are also thinking of providing an Edition of just The Aramaic Text for those who have been asking for that. We will alert you of the progress along those lines as we continue in that direction.

The Aramaic Text used to translate here at TheAramaicScriptures.com, is from Eastern Aramaic Manuscripts, such as The Khabouris Manuscript, pictured above, it being a hand-written Eastern Aramaic New Testament, said to have been scribed in the ancient city of Nineveh, and which is thought to have taken place sometime between 900 to 1000 A.D. and said to have been officially certified by a Bishop of The Holy Apostolic Catholic Church of the East as being a faithful copy of a much older Eastern Aramaic New Testament Manuscript, likely scribed during the mid 5th century, which in turn likely was itself a faithful copy of The Original Aramaic New Testament Scriptures, which was personally handed to The Church of the East by The Apostles themselves, in the ancient City of Edessa, in the 1st century.
The Khabouris Codex Manuscript you can read and study here, via the study tool, is thus, most likely only a 3rd generational copy of The Word of Alaha (God) in the Aramaic language, which was given to The Church of the East from the very Apostles of Meshikha (The Messiah) in the language in which Eshu (Yeshua) and His Disciples spoke, wrote, and proclaimed The Hopeful Message of God's Redemption of Mankind.
The earliest such Manuscript witness we have some knowledge of for The Aramaic New Testament, is from as early as the year 78 A.D., which is spoken about in J. S. Assemani's famous Bibliotheca, where it states, “At Edessa was a written Gospel, ancient but still legible. Not a single iota was erased, and it could more easily be read than many modern books, but by reason of its great age the first ten leaves had been lost. At the end was the following subscription: ‘This sacred book was finished on Wednesday the eighteenth day of the first month Conun (December), in the year 389 (of the Greeks, i.e. 78 A.D.), by the hand of the Apostle Achaeus, a fellow-laborer of Mar Maris, and a disciple of the Apostle Mar Adaeus, whom we entreat to pray for us. Amen.’” The Manuscript is said to have been seen in Baghdad near the river Tigris, on an ancient Church of the East altar.

A number of other Eastern Peshitta Manuscripts have been examined, as well as the BFBS/UBS Text of the 1905/1920 Aramaic New Testament, which is said to be a Critical Text of about 70 to 80 Aramaic Manuscripts, consisting of both Eastern and Western versions, and also the 5th-6th century Aramaic Manuscripts housed in the British Museum, numbered 14,470, 14,453, 14,473, and 14,475.
The manuscripts used for the actual translation are various 5th-6th century manuscripts, like the Goodspeed MS 716, Manuscripts no.17 & no.54 from Saint Catherine's Monastery, 7th century manuscripts like the Yonan Codex, 8th-9th century manuscripts like the Paris Syr. 342 Codex, 1oth-11th century manuscripts like the Khabouris Codex, 12th-13th century manuscripts like the the 1199 A.D. The Houghton Codex, the 1261 A.D. Syriac 9 manuscript, and lastly the 1613 A.D. Mingana Codex, which is much like The Textus Receptus of The Eastern Aramaic New Testament, these all were compared when a scribal mistake in one of the manuscripts was made, while making certain that all the Original Eastern readings were present in this English translation as preserved by The Holy Apostolic Catholic Church of the East since the time of The Apostles.
It should be pointed out, that The Aramaic Language is an older sister language of The Hebrew, a Semitic Language of The Middle Eastern region of the world, which it's very close to in its construction, alphabet, and vocabulary.

Also, one of the great features of the {Study Tool}, is the "show verse" section, where, when you click on it, it will show you every verse, where a particular word you are looking at is found in the rest of The Aramaic New Testament Scriptures. This is like a regular Concordance, and is very helpful to see how the same Aramaic word is used in other books and chapters. ~ Translation/Transliteration ~
Unlike most other English translations of the Aramaic Scriptures, I have decided to make a very literal and faithful rendering into the English language, which is not only a Translation of the Aramaic words into English words which mean the same thing, but also to give the actual Aramaic words themselves, as they read in the Aramaic language in English letters, which is called transliterating. In this way, for Persons, Places, and Things, which are the most often mentioned, you can become acquainted with the actual Aramaic words which are used, and also see what they mean in the {bracketed} portion just following the original words or phrases. These transliterated words are phonetically rendered into English characters in as simple a way as I could give them. This Translation/Transliteration is thus a tool to help you learn the Aramaic language as you read through it.
The English Translation/Transliteration you are reading here is rendered straight from The Eastern Aramaic New Testament Manuscripts. No Greek or Latin sources have been used, and no Western Peshitto readings have been used. This English Translation/Transliteration is as literal and faithful to The Aramaic source Texts as could possibly be made, while still being readable/understandable in The English language. Some Aramaic idioms are retained, while others, which are not very understandable in English, or which might alter the clear meaning of The Text, are rendered in a dynamic equivalent translation, which gives the sense.
Also, many other Aramaic/English Translations produced during the 19th-21st century have been checked/consulted to see how they render the very difficult passages. Prayer for wisdom, is always made to God for guidance, to come as close to the Aramaic meaning as possible, with its context always taken into consideration. I ask that anyone who might see anything that needs to be corrected, please do, so we can have the words be as perfect as possible in the English language.
This Translation/Transliteration effort was begun in 2010, and it's hoped that by 2017, God willing, it will be completed as an online edition, with printed editions available when everything is done and looked over carefully for any mistakes.

From when I saw that Romans 5:7 was illogical and found out the true reading in Aramaic, I embarked on my own research, and lately I have translated to Swedish a translation of both your translation and some from others, as I find your translation quite on the more clean side.

Shlama, I was very glad to find this website! Very helpful to understand deeply about the Scripture. I know that the real Peshitta derived from The Church of the East, and this Church came to my country of Indonesia in Fifth century to my hometown of Pansur, which is called Baru, in North Sumatera province today. For centuries there has been no one of this Church who has come to us anymore. Now at least, I can study The Church of The East's Peshitta anyway. Thanks for your help.
